The Diving Trinity
Over the years a few instructors, training agencies and even manufacturers have come along and introduced diving concepts,
systems or styles that they have considered the 'only way' of diving. Can you imagine going to a number of dealerships to buy a
car and only finding Ford Tempos. Or how about being told by a personal trainer that the only way to get in shape is to jogforget
aerobics, stair-masters, swimming and racquet sports. The human species, by nature is dynamic with each one of us different from
the other. We have different needs, desires, talents and beliefs. There are fundamental approaches to diving and diving safety but
the concept cannot be restricted to one type of equipment, one style or a single philosophy.
I bring this topic up as I have recently received an alarming number of calls from divers seeking training who are concerned
that I am going to make them follow a certain mandate. For the complete story, pick up a copy of the March issue of DIVER Magazine. | |
