Beneath Cold Seas Gallery comes toVancouver
Previously featured in DIVER Volume 37 Issue 3, David Hall’s photography comes to Vancouver on August 24th.
Photohaus Gallery is pleased to announce the opening debut of David Hall’s Beneath Cold Seas, a compelling collection of underwater photography shot entirely off the coast of British Columbia. This will be the first time this collection has been exhibited anywhere in the world.
David has been successful in capturing a unique and beautiful record of marine life found beneath the cold waters of the Pacific Northwest. His photographs have both scientific and artistic merit, providing the viewer with a unique insight into this complex underwater ecosystem.
Photographed over fifteen years, the exhibition will include thirty stunning prints including David’s favourites from his successful book of the same name. Released in October 2011, the book has received widespread critical acclaim and was the winner of the 2012 National Outdoor Book Award for ‘best design and artistic merit’.
The opening reception will be held on Saturday August 24th. Beginning at 6.45pm with a short talk from Jodi Stark, Public Engagement Specialist at the David Suzuki Foundation who is pleased to say a few words about David Hall, the magic and mystery of Canada’s Pacific coastal waters and the important role of underwater photography in ocean conservation.
This is a free event open to the public. Doors open at 6.30pm. The photographer will be in residence.
